SHIRT | STORMY LEAVES

FABRIC:

Short sleeve shirt made from recycled bedsheets, old cotton tents and printed with all kind of leaves and natural dyes using the ECO PRINT technique. 

This mini-series of shirts has been made with a  mix of our collection of different colours and materials, creating a wild mix of beautiful and incredibly detailed shirts. 

Each  of the 13 parts of the shirt is made from a different piece of printed fabric and features different leaves.

MEASUREMENTS:

Eco-printing is a technique that uses the natural colours and shapes of plants and elements to print on plant-based fabrics and create the most exciting and beautiful unique patterns.

The process of ECO PRINTING starts with the selection of untreated plant-based textiles. Here we use almost only old recycled cotton-based materials.
The raw textiles must then be left in a special mordant for at least one day so that they can absorb and bind the colours. After that we wash the material and wrap the fabric panels with leaves, flowers and other colourful materials. For even stronger colours or special effects, we sometimes soak the fabrics in an iron solution before wrapping.
The wrapped fabric bundles are then placed in large pots and steamed with hot water for another 2 hours.
After steaming, the material is printed and must now be washed and dried before we can work with the material and produce absolutely unique pieces of all kinds.
